On the Nose is a term which means that the writer was too obvious in telling the reader information they may have needed or not needed to know.
Here is an example:
- Joe went into the shed. He was shocked to see Emily hanging from the rafters. She was dead.
Telling us that she is dead after the point is not necessary.
